The owners are a young couple who had recently moved back to New England from Seattle.  They found this home and immediately constructed a sizable addition prior to moving in.  

There were four main design goals; first, to reflect the Northwest aesthetic that they prefer; second, to add depth to the front elevation of the home; third, to provide privacy for the deck located on the East side of the home; and fourth to employ low-maintenance plantings, since the couple do not consider themselves "gardeners."
