As is the case with many historic homes in New England, the configuration of the interior was not going to meet the needs of the owner's family for much longer.  They wanted to plan for an aging parent to move in with them and, later, to have a ground-floor bedroom suite for them to move into in their retirement.

As is also typical, the old house had been added onto many times.  Instead of planning yet another addition, we were able to reclaim wasted space and reconfigure the interior to give them what they needed.

Early studies of the exterior show how we might begin to improve the exterior and work with the challenge of an existing Mansard roof.
